Nick Guilford is a twenty-four-year-old visual artist from, and working out of, Ōtepoti/Dunedin.Nick typically works with acrylic and oil paint but often utilises a variety of media: watercolour; paint pens; fine point pens; pastels; spray paint; tracing paper; X-rays etc.
Exhibitions
Bunkerpatrol (April 2024): "Three local Dunedin artists with contrasting styles come together in a collaboration exhibition titled “Bunkerpatrol.” Showcasing a series of recent paintings displaying tangible visions and emotion pulled from trials and tribulations." Collaborated with Silas Brassy Kemp and Harry Dolan.
Ecdysis (May 2024): "In reaction to rapid changes in technology, global politics, and social paradigms, Ecdysis intends to express the adaptive struggle felt in an accelerating, amorphous, volatile world. With a focus on New Zealand’s youth Ecdysis’ works explore the pervasive feelings of futility, hysteria, and alienation within this demographic."
